Shorewood Hills Pool Swim Team Families and General Volunteers

  • Volunteer spots are now open! Please sign up for your shifts here.
  • Please remember that Shorewood swim and dive families are required to sign up for 3 4-hour shifts per family if a swimmer is swimming in the All-City meet. All other Shorewood swim and dive families are strongly encouraged to volunteer for at least 3 shifts per family.

 

League Pools (Timers and Clerk of Course spots)

Volunteer Job Descriptions

Timers are assigned to one lane of the pool and time the event of each swimmer in that lane for a designated period of time.

Clerk of Course checks in and stages swimmers in the correct lines.

Meet Marshalls/Security Team maintain order and traffic flow behind the blocks and the Clerk of Course area. Additional Marshalls maintain traffic from viewer and “tent camp” area to pool. Marshalls answer questions, guide spectators to the correct locations, and serve as a security presence at the meet.

Apparel volunteers sell All-City merchandise and help customers with orders.

Concessions volunteers sell concessions items at the meet.

Grounds volunteers help build structures for the meet.

Hospitality volunteers provide snacks and drinks to officials, coaches, timers, and certain other volunteers; monitor and refill water coolers at Clerk of Course and on deck; check coaches’ and officials’ wrist bands at meal times; and restock ice, water, and other supplies as needed.

Parking/Transportation volunteers provide parking direction.

Senior Recognition volunteers put together the senior recognition event.

Signage/Decor volunteers make and install signage and decor.

Waste Management team liases with garbage collection and oversees waste collection at the meet.

Social Media/Photography volunteers take photos/videos during the meet, gather information for social media posts, and draft social media posts. Ideal role for a photographer, videographer, or writer.
